The House on Wednesday approved a sweeping defense policy bill that authorizes $900 billion in Pentagon programs, including a pay raise for service members and changes to how the military buys weapons.
The House passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) by an overwhelming 312-112 vote. Eighteen Republicans and 94 Democrats voted against the bill.
The vote comes amid growing friction between the Republican-led Congress and President Donald Trump’s administration over defense management.
