DOLLAR BAY — It was opening night for area high school girls basketball Tuesday. In Dollar Bay, the Blue Bolts fell to the Hancock Bulldogs, 52-27. It was the first win for Hancock’s new varsity coach, Carsen Chynoweth.
“We pushed the floor well,” he said, “getting easy buckets off transition.”
Easy buckets resulted in an 18-0 lead for the Bulldogs after the first eight minutes.
The Blue Bolts got their first bucket early in the second courtesy of Macy Jurgensen. She went on to lead her team in scoring with 16 points.
The Bulldogs led 29-6 at half. They kept their winning pace going in the third moving the ball well.
“I liked how we were making an extra pass and playing as a team,” Chynoweth added. “We were patient. We played up tempo, but poised, and not out of control. We rebounded
