More than 250 police officers descended on parts of Merseyside today. Merseyside Police are carrying out a large-scale policing operation, codenamed Operation Vanguard, in Stockbridge Village and Huyton on Thursday, December 11.
People living in the areas will see a huge number of officers and around 60 police vehicles on the ground as they undertake a "sustained and relentless offensive" against criminals, a spokesperson for the force said. Merseyside Police said Operation Vanguard reinforces their commitment to keeping communities safe by "taking strong action" against those involved in criminality.
