Basketball is a team game, but having some star power certainly helps teams chase down titles.

Last year North Kingstown won the Division I championship, and it wasn’t a surprise to see the Skippers have one First Team and one Second Team All-State selection. Ponaganset lost the D-I final, won the state title, and had two First Team All-State picks. The team they beat, Moses Brown, had a player in Lauren Bousquet who put forth maybe the best individual effort in Rhode Island Interscholastic League history. No one was surprised when she earned a First Team All-State spot and was named Providence Journal Player of the Year.
