The Millcreek Township General Authority still has a major decision to make.

Two developers have submitted proposals to build commercial spaces and apartments on eight acres of vacant land along West Eighth Street near Presque Isle State Park.

Authority members have not yet decided which plan to choose. "Active conversations" continue with both developers, authority Executive Director Matt Waldinger said.

"It was hoped that an announcement could be made before the end of the year, but I feel it's very important that we do not rush this process to meet an arbitrary deadline," Waldinger said.

"This project is going to be providing economic benefits to the township for generations to come so we want to take all the time we need to make the best selection possible."
