It has been a shocking last 12 hours in Michigan. Football head coach Sherrone Moore was presumably getting himself and the Wolverines ready for the Citrus Bowl against Texas on New Year's Eve when he was fired after an investigation that found he had an "improper relationship" with a staffer.
This is obviously still a developing story with a lot more sure to come out after what went down on Wednesday.
He was then arrested and detained. And if you're wondering about the details about all of that, we've got you covered. Here's everything we know as of Thursday morning as the details continue to emerge:
Why was Sherrone Moore fired by Michigan?
Per a statement from Athletic Director Warde Manuel, an investigation found "credible evidence" of Moore having "an inappropriate relationship with a staff member."
Why was Sherrone Moore arrested?
Per a statement from the City of Saline Police Department, he was detained as an "investigation into potential charges" begins.
A media release from the Department of Public Safety in Pittsfield Township -- just south of Ann Arbor -- said that police responded to an alleged assault.
"The incident does not appear to be random in nature," it read, "and there appears to be no ongoing threat to the community."
Has the name of the victim of the alleged assault or the "improper relationship" been released?
Not officially, no.
Is Sherrone Moore married?
Yes, he is.
Who is Sherrone Moore's wife?
It's Kelli Moore. They've been married since 2015 and they have three kids together, daughters Shiloh, Solei and Sadie.
