Hamilton fire battles blaze at east

Hamilton fire is on the scene of a multiple-alarm blaze in the city’s east end.

The fire department wrote on X Thursday morning that crews were fighting a fire at 2520 Barton St. E. — an apartment building between Centennial Parkway North and Lake Avenue North.

One unit was involved in the fire, with smoke having spread throughout the building. No injuries have been reported.

Videos posted online of the fire showed flames shooting out of the window of a unit.

Chief Dave Cunliffe is expected to host a press briefing at the scene at 9:30 a.m.
