A new 'superflu' variant is here and it appears it may be here to stay - for quite some time.

The NHS has recorded thousands of hospitalisations with flu variants over the last week, with the strain responsible said to be "subclade K."

This is otherwise known as the "K strain," a mutation of influenza A which has since turned into what is known as the A(H3N2) variant.

Brits have already reported feeling incredibly under the weather with this new strain, with numerous people expressing how hard the virus has hit them.
