SURPRISE, AZ (AZFamily) — An armed suspect is in the hospital after being shot by Surprise police early Thursday morning.
The shooting was reported in a neighborhood near Reems and Cactus roads shortly after 6:30 a.m. What led up to the shooting remains under investigation, but police say a suspect armed with a knife was shot by officers.
The suspect was taken to the hospital, but their condition is currently unknown at this time. No officers were hurt during the shooting, and authorities stress that there is no threat to the community.
