PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Drivers heading toward downtown Phoenix from the West Valley on Interstate 10 had to be detoured on Friday night because of a hit-and-run crash.
It happened in the eastbound lanes of I-10 at 67th Avenue, close to the southbound Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway, around 7 p.m., the Department of Public Safety said.
Troopers said there was at least one serious injury.
Drivers who were stuck on the freeway were allowed to pass the scene on the far right lane, but by 8 p.m., all the eastbound lanes were closed.
Crime tape was put up to block the lanes while troopers investigate.
DPS said the lanes won’t open until 2:30 or 3:30 a.m.
The westbound lanes of the I-10 are not affected.
