KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - A Knoxville man is facing an attempted murder charge after shooting at a car in Knox County, according to court documents obtained by WVLT News.

It happened on Dry Gap Road near Cunningham Road Saturday, the documents said, when the Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call that someone had been shot at and spoke to the victim.

“An unknown driver of a white four door vehicle pulled off to the side of the road and fired an unknown firearm at his vehicle,” the documents said. “After the shot was fired, the suspect vehicle fled west bound on E. Beaver Creek Road before officers’ arrival.”

The victim told officers he didn’t recognize the car, the documents said, but officers were able to track it down using security camera footage.
