FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - A not guilty plea was entered for the man charged in the shooting at Kentucky State University.

Jacob Bard is charged with murder and assault. He is the parent of a KSU student.

Bard appeared via Zoom for the court hearing. The judge set a $1 million cash bond.

Officials said Bard got into a fight before the shooting, but the reason he was on campus remains unclear.

His next hearing will be Dec. 16 at 1 p.m.
