Tiny dreams, bright future, all reduced to smoke and ash. A Class I student’s life was tragically cut short in a massive fire at the hostel of a school in Arunachal Pradesh’s Taktsang, in the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.

The deceased student has been identified as Choine Tsomu (6), daughter of Tenzin Yeton and Yeshi Wange of Shocktsan village, under the Jemeithang Circle.

The fire broke out at the hostel of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Awasiya Vidyalaya at around 12:20 AM.

As the fire broke out, Class VIII student Dorjee Tsomu and hostel warden Nima Lhamu rescued several children who were asleep at the time, but despite their efforts, Choine Tsomu could not be saved due to the intensity of the fire.
