NATIONWIDE — THE WALT DISNEY COMPANY and OpenAI have reached an agreement for Disney to become the first major content licensing partner on Sora , OpenAI’s generative AI video platform, OpenAI announced Thursday. As part of the three-year agreement, Sora will be able to generate short videos from user prompts that can be shared by fans on Disney outlets, drawing from a set of more than 200 animated characters and environments from Disney, Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars. In addition, ChatGPT Images will be able to create images drawing from the same library. In addition, Disney will become a major customer of OpenAI, and will make a $1 billion equity investment.
