The epartment for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) is set to release a second working paper on the proposed India model for AI and copyright, focussing on `copyrightability’ of AI generated works and their authorship, according to a government official.

Earlier this month, the DPIIT committee on the intersection of artificial intelligence and copyright, released its first working paper on the issue of unauthorised use of copyright-protected content for AI training, and is now collecting inputs from all stakeholders on the suggestions.

“Once the inputs are collected on all proposals, these would be fully analysed. It is only after intensive discussions and consultations on the proposals will they be placed before Parliament,” an official said.
