Three of the four suspects charged in a Newark shooting that killed three people.

Four people have been arrested and charged in a deadly triple shooting in Newark last month, authorities announced Thursday, Dec. 11 at a press conference.

Almuta Thomas, a 31-year-old Newark resident, a 16-year-old Newark resident, Furquan Boykin, a 20-year-old Newark resident and Quayon-Williams King, a 26-year-old Newark resident all faces of charges of murder in the first degree in the shooting deaths of 10-year-old Jordan Garcia,  21-year-old Kiyah Mae Scott, and 19-year-old Masi Rogers Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens  and Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. said.

Police were called to the 300 block of Chancellor Avenue at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, for the shooting, authorities said. Garcia and Scott were taken to University Hospital, where they were pronounced dead, officials said.

Rogers was pronounced dead several days later, authorities said. Garcia's 11-year-old brother was also wounded in the shooting, along with one other man, authorities said.

Thomas is additionally charged with conspiracy to commit murder, aggravated assault, aggravated arson and theft of a motor vehicle, authorities said.

The juvenile and Boykin are charged with conspiracy to commit murder and aggravated assault, while Williams-King also faces charges of conspiracy to commit murder, aggravated assault, aggravated arson and theft of a motor vehicle, authorities said.
