Manchester High School

A Connecticut high school briefly went into lockdown Thursday, after police said they learned a teenager was on his way to the campus with a gun to confront another student.

Administrators at Manchester High School moved quickly to secure the campus as police searched for the suspect around 1:20 p.m.

Officers arrested a 16-year-old from Hartford without incident, and police said he had no weapons, Manchester police said.

The teen is not a student at Manchester High. Because of his age, police said they will not release additional identifying details.

Authorities charged him with breach of peace in the second degree, threatening in the first degree, stalking in the second degree, and loitering on school grounds, Manchester police said.

The investigation remains active.

Authorities ask anyone with information to call the Manchester Police Department at 860-645-5500.
