CHARLESTON, W.Va. — West Virginia state employees can expect to receive a raise next year, according to Gov. Patrick Morrisey.
His proposed budget for next year, which will be detailed during the annual State of the State address on Jan. 14, will include funds for pay increases for teachers, members of the West Virginia State Police and others on the state's payroll, Morrisey said on Thursday.
"In my budget for next year, for fiscal year 2027, we will have a pay raise for state employees, period," he said. "That's going to include teachers, that's going to include school service personnel. That's going to include our hardworking State Police and so many of the people, the correction officers, who are working hard every day to make West Virginia a better place to live, to work and to play
