NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Gerald McCormick, the former majority leader for the Tennessee House of Representatives, has died.

Both the House Republican and Democratic Caucuses confirmed his death in emails sent Thursday. He was 63.

McCormick was a Republican based out of Chattanooga who represented District 26 of Hamilton County. He served in multiple leadership roles during his 14 years at the House, the Democratic Caucus said.
