JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — One teen is dead and two others are injured after a failed drug deal escalated into a shooting in Jacksonville's Sandalwood area Friday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

According to JSO Sgt. Highfill, officers responded to the 2200 block of Mareeba Road East in reference to the shooting around 9:10 p.m. Friday.

When they arrived, Highfill said officers found a teen in the road with multiple gunshot wounds, another teen who was shot once, and a man inside a vehicle at the same intersection with multiple gunshot wounds.

Highfill said members of the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department then responded to the scene and took the three victims to a local hospital where one of them died.
