Drivers risk a driving ban and vehicles being SEIZED under a clampdown in England. Greater Manchester Police has started cracking down on uninsured driving offences across hotspot areas.

Greater Manchester Police has launched a joint operation to tackle uninsured driving across the region, with offenders facing hefty punishment. Police stopped 88 vehicles as part of a crackdown in a Manchester area that ranks as one of the worst in the country for uninsured drivers.

Officers carried out the crackdown in Gorton last month after data revealed the M18 postcode ranked as the eighth worst place in the UK for uninsured drivers. As part of the national road safety initiative, Greater Manchester Police road unit officers stopped 88 vehicles in one day.
