TRENTON, Mo - Vel Westbrook, Nursing Skills Lab Supervisor at North Central Missouri College in Trenton has been named the recipient of the Innovation Award by the Missouri Community College Association (MCCA).

Westbrook received the award during the annual MCCA Convention in St. Charles. The statewide award recognizes individuals or teams who develop creative, effective solutions that enhance student learning and improve college operations through innovative practices and technology.

Westbrook was one of nine finalists for the award. Her selection was based on her groundbreaking approach to nursing education. She is able to integrate advanced simulation technology with hands-on learning experiences, ensuring students are fully prepared for real-world healthcare challenges.
