TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - The Ohio General Assembly has passed Senate Bill 56, which would change the state’s marijuana laws, temporarily legalize THC beverages and ban the sale of intoxicating hemp products outside of marijuana dispensaries.

The bill now awaits Gov. Mike DeWine’s signature.

“I don’t think there’s anybody who got everything that they wanted in this legislation and that’s normally how legislation works,” said Adrienne Robbins, deputy executive director of OHCANN.

The Ohio Cannabis Coalition, which represents Ohio businesses and individuals, supports the legislation. Robbins said lawmakers are addressing a rising public health crisis with unregulated hemp products.
