Health leaders are urging people across Greater Manchester to take five key steps to stay well over Christmas as flu cases continue to rise. NHS Greater Manchester says preparation now could help keep pressure off busy services over the festive period.

The advice comes as the region prepares for a combination of seasonal illness and planned industrial action. Thousands of resident doctors in England are set to go on strike from next Wednesday (December 17) until December 22. The public are advised to attend any planned appointments scheduled during the strikes unless they have been contacted to reschedule.
