A long-running Mexican restaurant chain has indefinitely closed most of its locations after nearly 50 workers were arrested Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.

According to the Tucson Sentinel in Arizona , seven Taco Giro restaurants have closed after about 10% (46 workers) of the company’s employees were detained by ICE. Nearly all are kitchen staff, making food preparation incredibly difficult.

“Basically, they corralled everyone in the homes where they were living, which was a couple of houses,” Cesar Rodriguez, director of operations for Taco Giro told the Sentinel. “And they came into the establishment to verify documentation and some questioning items what they were investigating on and pretty much that was it.”
