CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The daughter of a sheriff in Middle Tennessee has been sentenced to decades in prison following her child abuse convictions.

Sarah Fuson was convicted in October of abusing a toddler at a daycare in Clarksville in 2023.

A doctor testified in court that the child suffered an injury to her skull. A video was also shown of Fuson shoving the child in a high chair, which left bruising on the child’s arm.

Fuson, who is the daughter of Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson, was sentenced to 24 years in prison.

20 years for one count of aggravated abuse of a child

Four years for one count of child abuse

Fuson’s attorney set a tentative date for May 20 for a hearing to request a new trial.
