ASHBURN, Va. — There are multiple roles the Washington Commanders can play in any given NFL season, depending on how successful they are, or are not, as a group.

Of course, the ultimate role every NFL team wants to play is that of champion, one that the Commanders got just two wins away from in 2024.

This season, however, with just three wins entering the final four games of the year, Washington won’t be champion, nor contender, but it can be a spoiler, and in that role, there is still some fun to be had. Especially in a time of year when The Grinch is nearly as popular as Santa Claus himself.
