A winter weather advisory was released by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 12:47 p.m. valid from Friday 4 a.m. until Saturday 1 a.m. for Oswego County.
The weather service adds to prepare for, “Total snow accumulations 4 to 8 inches in the most persistent lake snows.”
“Travel could be very difficult with snow covered roads and poor visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the Friday morning and evening commutes,” explains the weather service. “During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally heavy snow with greatly reduced visibilities to dry conditions just a few miles away. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather, visibility, and road conditions.”
