CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The man accused of stabbing another man on a CATS light railcar in December 2025 is now facing federal charges, the FBI and U.S. Attorney's Office announced Wednesday.
Court records reviewed by WCNC Charlotte on Dec. 11, 2025, show that 33-year-old Oscar Solorzano is now charged with committing a terrorist attack or violence against a mass transportation system. He is also charged with re-entry of a removed alien. These charges are on top of the state charges Solorzano-Garcia is already facing.
Federal immigration officials had previously lodged an arrest detainer for Solorzano, who is from Honduras and in the United States illegally. The Department of Homeland Security said Solorzano was removed from the country in March 2018. He was arrested while crossing the border
