MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCSC) — A man who beat his wife during a two-day assault three years ago has been found guilty by the jury.
Don Antoin Woody received a 20-year prison sentence after being convicted on charges of domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature. He had prior convictions for disorderly conduct, assault on a police officer, assault and battery, driving without a license, driving under suspension and possession with intent to distribute a schedule I-III drug. He was not found guilty of kidnapping.
Ninth Circuit Solicitor’s Office spokesperson Ashley Kay said Woody brutally beat, choked and stabbed her after a disagreement on June 12, 2022. She testified to the court that he punched her in the face and knocked her to the floor before grabbing her by hr hair and dragging
