An investigation is underway as state Public Health officials are piecing together the first measles case in Connecticut since 2021 .
We’re told the child is under the age of 10, from Fairfield County, was unvaccinated and had traveled internationally.

“We are working with the family to be able to help determine all the elements of contact tracing that we will need to do,” Department of Public Health Commissioner Dr. Manisha Juthani said. “People who may have been in contact with this child will be notified.”
Experts are not surprised Connecticut has a case, considering the decline of vaccinations across the country and the spread of measles.
