A driver was killed when she crashed head-on with a pickup truck while attempting to pass another truck on Alameda Avenue near Fabens, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office said.
Maria De Cisneros Romo, 54, of Tornillo, died at the scene of the crash, which occurred about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 17089 Alameda Ave., stated a news release by sheriff's spokeswoman Priscilla I. Contreras.
A red Chevrolet Silverado was westbound on Alameda Avenue, followed by a black Toyota SUV driven by Cisneros Romo, sheriff's officials reported. The Toyota attempted to pass the Chevrolet and collided head-on with a gray Dodge pickup that was eastbound. The Chevrolet then crashed with the Toyota.
