An overturned semi-truck near an entrance for the Stevenson Expressway prompted traffic delays and a response from police, fire and hazmat Thursday ahead of the afternoon rush hour.

Around 3:50 p.m., aerial video from NBC Chicago Sky 5 showed the semi-truck on its side near 4110 South Cicero Avenue, with police cars, an ambulance and fire trucks in the area.

The northbound traffic on Cicero Avenue and the entrance to I-55 from Cicero Avenue were blocked by the emergency response around 4 p.m.

Traffic delays of up to 1 hour were expected on Cicero Avenue of 4:30 p.m., according to Total Traffic.

The truck spilled fuel, prompting a hazmat response from the Chicago Fire Department.

The overturned truck was partially beneath the railroad viaduct over Cicero Avenue, video showed.
