Judge David Zagaja ruled Thursday that three New Haven police officers charged in connection with the 2022 incident that left Richard “Randy” Cox paralyzed will stand trial together.
Officer Oscar Diaz and former officers Jocelyn Lavandier and Luis Rivera each confirmed to Zagaja that they discussed the decision for a joint trial with their individual attorneys before agreeing to the consolidation.

“We’re looking forward to having our day in court,” said Matthew Popilowski outside court Thursday. Popilowski represents Diaz.
