TOLEDO, Ohio — About 24 hours ago, police were chasing a man driving a U-Haul across Toledo , resulting in two TPD cruisers colliding and the van's driver charged with kidnapping and other crimes.
Police were initially called for reports of an adult being held against their will, and officials found the victim unharmed. But that call soon spiraled into a cross-town police chase that many witnessed firsthand.
“I thought I was going to be roadkill at one point,” said Matt Junga.
Toledo police say it all began after they responded to the 3200 block of Northwood Avenue for a report of an adult being held against their will. When police found the kidnapping suspect, 35-year-old Rodney Coley, he took off in the U-Haul.
The pursuit led to a collision at Franklin Avenue and Bancroft Street,
