A Cecil County woman is charged with the murder of her five-week old daughter.

Maryland State Police said police and emergency personnel responded to a 911 call in Rising Sun last Thursday December 4th, and the infant was dead at the scene. State Police said an autopsy conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore revealed evidence of trauma.

The Homicide Unit and the Office of the Cecil County State's Attorney continued to investigate the incident, and police said evidence led to 24-year-old Destiny Chiveral of Charlestown being charged with murder, child abuse resulting in death, and related crimes.

Chiveral was being held without bond. She was arrested Wednesday night without incident, police said.
