New Castle County police arrested a 21-year man on auto theft charges on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

A car was reported stolen to New Castle County Police on Tuesday, December 9th, around 9:30 a.m., from Hunter's Crossing.

The owner said they had left the car running to warm up with the keys still inside.

On Wednesday morning, Kayonne Baxter contacted 9-1-1 to report the car he had taken had been towed from a different location and that his personal items were still in it. He wanted to retrieve them.

Police retrieved the stolen car, Baxter's personal items, and Baxter, and charged him with a felony count of theft of a motor vehicle.

He was released on his own recognizance.
