DE PERE, Wis. (WBAY) - With holiday travel picking up, the De Pere Police Department is reminding neighbors about a service that can help keep homes safe while you’re away.
Police say it’s all about stopping problems before they happen.
De Pere police say crime prevention is a top priority.
If you live in the city and are leaving for a few days, or even longer, you can sign up for extra house checks while you’re gone.
It’s called a “Vacation Watch”. Officers will swing by your home multiple times, day or night, making sure everything looks normal.
The program isn’t new, but police say they’re promoting it more this year to boost community partnership and safety.
You can fill out an online form and let the police know if anyone is allowed to be on your property while you’re away.
