MOORHEAD — A Moorhead student was arrested Thursday, Dec. 11, after police said they brought an "illegal substance" to school.

The incident happened at Horizon Middle School, the Moorhead Police Department said on social media. The student who attended the school was arrested without incident and with no disruptions to the school day, the post said.

“The safety and security of our students is our highest priority,” Moorhead Area Public Schools Superintendent Brandon Lunak said in a statement. “Students found to be in violation of law or district policy will face appropriate disciplinary action, up to and including expulsion, and the district will cooperate fully with law enforcement in pursuing prosecution when applicable.”
