"The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" actor Wenne Alton Davis was killed in a car accident in New York on Dec. 8.
The 60-year-old, who used they/them pronouns, had been struck by a vehicle while walking in midtown Manhattan, police confirmed to USA TODAY on Wednesday, Dec. 10.
The New York Police Department said in its statement that officers responded to reports of a car colliding with a person at around 8:45 p.m. on Dec. 8. The NYPD did not identify Davis as the victim but shared that the pedestrian had been struck while walking at the intersection of West 53rd Street and Broadway.

How did Wenne Davis die?
Further investigation by the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad found that a black 2023 Cadillac XT6, operated by a 61-year-old man, hit Davis "in the vicinity of the south crosswalk on Broadway" as the driver was making a left turn.
Davis "sustained severe trauma to the head and body," according to authorities, and was transported to nearby Mount Sinai hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
USA TODAY has reached out to reps for Davis for comment.
Have arrests been made in the death of Wenne Davis?
The 61-year-old driver who struck Davis with his car was uninjured and remained on the scene, according to police. His name has not been released.
The NYPD also said that no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Wenne Davis' agent pays tribute to the actor
Jamie Harris, Davis' agent, posted a touching tribute on Instagram on Wednesday, Dec. 10.
"No words yet, Only [love]," wrote Harris, alongside a photo of him with Davis. "Rest in peace, old friend. We will miss you forever."
Who is Wenne Davis?
A working actor with several titles under their belt, Davis often played a detective or police officer, appearing as a cop in an episode from Season 5 of "Mrs. Maisel" and as a police officer in the 2011 movie "Shame."
The "New Amsterdam" actor's other credits include "Girls5Eva," "Blindspot" and "American Odyssey."
They lived in Queens' Forest Hills neighborhood, according to the NYPD.
Davis' final post on Instagram was from four weeks ago, on Veterans Day. "Happy Veterans Day to my Dad & my brother-in-law & all the others who have served!" they wrote in the caption.
