A snow squall warning has been issued for two counties in northern New Jersey Thursday afternoon as an intense band of snow showers was quickly moving across parts of the state.
The alert, issued at about 2:55 p.m. by the National Weather Service , warned drivers that roads could rapidly become dangerously slick and visibility could be reduced because of the blowing bursts of snow.
The snow squall warning covers the southwestern region of Sussex County and the northeastern region of Warren County, along with the eastern area of Monroe County in northeastern Pennsylvania. It will be active until 3:30 p.m.
UPDATE: The snow squall warning for Sussex and Warren counties was lifted at 3:30 p.m. because the squall finished passing through those areas. Light snow showers continue to drif
