RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Two suspects are in a local detention facility after eluding Nevada Highway Patrol troopers twice on Thursday, Dec. 11, according to an agency news release.
The incident started at 8:21 a.m. when troopers tried to pull over a white pickup truck near Interstate 580 and South Meadows Parkway in Reno.
The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed, the release said.
At 10:30 a.m., troopers found the white pickup truck near Eastlake Boulevard and 395A.
Again, the pickup truck fled at a high rate of speed.
Then troopers deployed Stop Sticks or spike strips, which flattened the pickup’s tires.
After running over the Stop Sticks the driver kept going for a mile before running off the right side of the road and coming to stop at 395A and Tinhorn Road.
