HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - In the first round of the Girls WYMT Food City Girls Mountain Basketball Classic, No. 4 Hazard faced Paintsville and won, 57-56.
The Lady Bulldogs got started on a 9-1 run, courtesy of a three-pointer by Maddi Frohnapfel.
With approximately two mintues left in the first quarter, Brooklyn Skaggs knocked down a triple. Kylie Kinner followed that up with a floater inside the paint, making the score 14-6, in favor of Hazard.
By the end of the first quarter the Bulldogs led, 19-6.
Laura Everidge scored the first four points of the second quarter, giving the Bulldogs a 23-6 lead.
With 3:22 reamining in the half, Kinner hit a shot on the inside to put the Lady Tigers within 12.
Going into the last frame Hazard led, 47-39.
With 1:37 left in the game, Skaggs hit a layup,
