LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Central Kentucky officials are preparing for the first of two winter weather systems expected to bring snow and bitter temperatures Thursday and Friday.
Several county officials are asking people to stay inside unless they have to go somewhere as local governments mobilize resources for the winter weather event.
Road crews begin pre-treatment operations
Lexington city leaders began pre-treating roads Wednesday evening as forecasts call for snow and bitter temperatures in Central Kentucky.
“I want our residents to know that we have plenty of salt for the roads. Our first responders are ready to respond and are road crews are already hard at work,” said Mayor Linda Gorton.
