OMAHA, Neb. —

South Central Omaha state Sen. Margo Juarez told KETV that there are lots of things she still wonders about at the ICE Detention Facility in McCook.

One of them: "What are you hiding that you don't want to allow someone into that facility?"

The McCook facility, previously the Nebraska Correctional System's Work Ethic Camp, now houses ICE detainees through a partnership with the federal government.

Juarez and Omaha state Sen. Machaela Cavanaugh, who said she was denied entry twice last month, maintain that the partnership does not alter Nebraska state law, which states that members of the legislature "shall be allowed to visit any facility in the Department of Correctional Services at any time."
