SIKESTON, Mo. (KFVS) - Friday night’s Championship matchup is set: Dexter vs. Sikeston.
The underdog Bearcats booked their spot in the final, their first-ever appearance in the final, after a nerve-wracking 44-42 victory over Cape Central.
Dexter narrowly trailed Cape Central headed into the fourth quarter, eventually going ahead with Elijah Ibrahim making a clutch bucket, drawing a foul in the process to put Dexter ahead by two.
Cape got a couple chances to tie at the free throw line, but Dexter edged out the win. Securing their first-ever SEMO Conference Tournament Championship Game appearance.
