Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu remain one of those rare combinations in Telugu cinema that audiences show up for without thinking twice. Their fourth outing, Akhanda 2: Thaandavam, stormed into theaters today after holding paid premieres across the globe last night.
The premieres were priced steeply at Rs. 600, yet the turnout barely seemed to blink at it. In Nizam alone, the film is estimated to have pulled in about Rs. 2.3 crore, which is a solid sign of where this is headed.
If the early chatter is anything to go by, the premieres in AP and TS together should comfortably cross the Rs. 5 crore mark. Of course, the final word rests with the makers once they reveal the official tally.
