QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. — The Valley grandmother behind the fast-growing YouTube channel “GrammaCrackers” has gained more than 100,000 subscribers in just one month—and her new online fame is helping support her grandson as he recovers from cancer.

It all began over the summer, when 81-year-old Sue Jacquot’s grandchildren showed her how to play Minecraft.

“At first, it was kind of scary, you know, because you, you're stepping into a little world that's different from your own,” she said. “You're trying to build, and you're trying to defend yourself."

But she says she quickly became hooked.

"I was playing all night, you know, because I didn't have a mom to tell me to go to bed," she said.
