HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Water quality concerns have prompted Waikiki Elementary School to be closed for Friday, officials said.
The Hawaii Department of Education (HIDOE) said discolored water was identified on the campus, and there is currently no confirmed resolution.
The school will remain closed until the water system is confirmed safe to use, and families and staff are being notified, officials said.
HIDOE said the school’s administration and facilities staff are working with the Board of Water Supply to flush the water lines.
