In a significant development, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has submitted a chargesheet in the mysterious case surrounding the death of popular singer Zubeen Garg at the Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court in Guwahati, Assam. The exhaustive chargesheet spans over 3,500 pages and was transported in four trunks.
Zubeen Garg died on September 19 while swimming in the sea in Singapore during his visit to attend the North East India Festival. His untimely demise under unusual circumstances prompted the Assam government to form the SIT, headed by Special DGP M.P. Gupta, who has already made seven arrests linked to the case.
Despite the Assam Chief Minister stating in the assembly that Garg's death was murder, the Singapore Police Force maintains there is no sign of foul play at this stage.
